Job Description

Adecco Creative & Marketing is recruiting a Director of Communications for the largest global animal health company committed to nurturing the world and humankind by advancing care for animals. The Director, Leadership Communications role will lead executive Communications, reporting to the EVP, Corporate Affairs, Communications and Sustainability. This candidate will contribute to a shared mission to advance and protect the brand, cultivate colleague engagement and drive thought leadership in animal health across internal and external channels.


This leader will serve as a trusted communications advisor to executive team members and develop and execute a strategic leader communications program, including driving a core narrative, messaging and thought leadership platforms through speaking opportunities and other internal and external stakeholder content and programming.


This role is remote, with the potential to go onsite as needed in Parsippany, NJ. The range for the role is between $57-$69hr. Rate depends on experience, education, location, and other factors.


Responsibilities

  • Craft narrative, messaging and thought leadership platforms
  • Work closely with Communications and Digital teams to leverage leader for key internal priorities, channels and events
  • Develop infrastructure to manage and scale executive communications, including processes, templates, and tools
  • Identify and prepare executive for internal and external communications activities that advance strategic priorities; vet inbound requests; work with cross-functional stakeholders to manage all preparation
  • Develop and execute end-to-end executive communications plan
  • Anticipate and manage issues as needed in coordination with corporate communications team
  • Write and edit compelling and persuasive communications, including narratives/POVs, scripts, talking points, blog posts, email messages and briefing documents
  • Support social media efforts, in partnership with Digital Comms team

  • Outstanding writing and editing skills; often asked to edit the work of others
  • Collaborative approach and ability to work cross-functionally through matrixed organization
  • Finger on the pulse of emerging topics and themes worthy of commercial thought leadership in animal health
  • Creative and agile; able to think beyond what’s been done before
  • Organization and program management skills
  • Strong executive presence and strategic counselor skills
  • Ability to synthesize complex concepts to create compelling stories and messages
  • Capability to understand the dynamics and unique needs of audiences in international markets


Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Public Relations or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Strong background in the healthcare or pharmaceuticals industry, preferred.
  • Expertise in media and public relations, including established relationships with business media outlets and industry influencers
  • Experience supporting executive communications.
  • A minimum of 10 years’ experience in communications or related field
