Accountable for leading design and analysis of Plan and market facing custom research in order to identify opportunities for differentiation. Leads analysis of trends and competitive positioning in Commercial Market (National Account, Mid-Market, Small Group, State Accounts) segments. Leads a team in this effort, drives the research agenda to increase our knowledge base and serves as an expert in synthesizing and presenting results to executive audiences. Ability to build relationships with and consult both internal business partners as well as BCBS Plans on research methods and design. This role will collaborate across BCBSA.

- Identify high impact opportunities to improve market competitiveness and advise business and strategy leadership to develop and implement programmatic solutions.”
- Management oversight of projects end to end – from requirements gathering and consultative ideation to research design and project management, to execution and delivery in order to identify market differentiators and support development with data-driven research.
- Directs a team to deliver actionable, strategic insights and recommendations to senior leadership; and teaches junior research staff how to conduct complex analyses.
- Independently and through subordinate staff, package and present research, insights and pragmatic recommendations to senior stakeholders effectively, adjusting approach as needed to account for diverse use cases, audiences and needs.
- Demonstrated ability to translate business needs and objectives to effective research methodology and project design, then leverage research to identify opportunities to support advancement of market objectives.
What we need:
- Project management skills
- Minimum of 10 years’ working experience in the field of market research, commercial markets within health insurance, or health insurance consulting practice
- 2+ years people management experience – hiring, coaching, developing and training.
- Effective communication skills; verbal and written.
- Bachelor's Degree
- Ability to design and write survey instruments.
- Ability to organize and synthesize quantitative and qualitative data to identify key findings and to lead a team in developing this skillset.
- Relationship management skills
