Job Title: Director of Lean Manufacturing - Cardiopulmonary Medical Device Company

As they continue to grow, they are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Lean Manufacturing to join our team.


Position Overview:

As the Director of Lean Manufacturing, you will take full ownership of the PTS (Perfusion Tubing System) production lines. You will play a pivotal role in optimizing our manufacturing processes and promoting a culture of continuous improvement with a focus on Value Stream Mapping. You will lead and inspire a team of manufacturing professionals, overseeing all aspects of lean manufacturing, operational efficiency, and process optimization within our Cardiopulmonary division.


Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement the lean manufacturing strategy, setting clear goals and objectives aligned with the company's overall operational strategy.
  2. Drive the implementation of lean manufacturing methodologies and practices across all manufacturing facilities, ensuring adherence to quality standards and regulatory requirements.
  3. Lead cross-functional teams in process improvement initiatives, utilizing tools such as value stream mapping, Kaizen events, 5S, standard work, and other lean tools to drive operational excellence.
  4. Collaborate with engineering, quality assurance, supply chain, and R&D teams to identify opportunities for process optimization, cost reduction, and quality improvement.
  5. Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track operational efficiency, process effectiveness, and overall manufacturing performance.
  6. Provide leadership and guidance to the manufacturing team, fostering a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous learning.
  7. Develop and manage the department's budget, ensuring optimal allocation of resources to support lean manufacturing initiatives.
  8. Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in lean manufacturing, incorporating relevant advancements into our manufacturing processes.


Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
  2. Proven track record of at least 5 years in lean manufacturing leadership roles within the medical device or pharmaceutical industry.
  3. Extensive experience in implementing and sustaining lean manufacturing principles, including value stream mapping, Kaizen, 5S, standard work, and other lean tools.
  4. Strong knowledge of quality management systems, regulatory requirements, and compliance standards in the medical device industry.
  5. Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive process improvement initiatives.
  6. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify root causes, develop solutions, and drive change.
  7. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  8. Proven leadership abilities, with experience in managing and developing high-performing teams.
  9. Lean Six Sigma certification is highly desirable.
