Job Description
Facility: Yampa Valley Medical Center- Steamboat Springs, CO
Department: GrandKids Child Care Center
Work Schedule: Full Time Days Exempt (40 hours/week)
Summary:
Oversees the overall operation of the child care center, ensuring that state regulations and quality standards are followed. Directs the department's activities and resources to ensure alignment with the mission, values and objectives of the department and organization.
Responsibilities:
  • Ensures state regulations and quality standards are met. Maintains wait lists, enrollment and census.
  • Communicates regularly with families to build positive relationships and answer any question or concerns.
  • Plans and monitors staffing activities, including hiring, scheduling, orienting, evaluating, disciplinary actions, continuing education initiatives, quality improvement projects, and staff meetings
  • Prepares, monitors, and evaluates departmental budgets, and ensures that the department operates in compliance with allocated funding. Coordinates and directs internal/external audits.

Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.
Requirements:
Minimum Required Education: Qualified Large Center Director Qualification per Child Care Licensing
Required Licensure/Certification: For YVMC GrandKids program only: American Red Cross First Aid/CPR within 6 months of hire. Valid driver's license. To be tracked at the department: Medication Administration certification within 6 months of hire.
Minimum Experience: Per State of Colorado regulations for Center Director.
The pay range for this position is: $ 35.74 - $57.19 / hour. Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience.
