Director - Energy Transition, Private Equity

Madison Hunt is partnered with a tenured Canadian infrastructure fund with $20bn+ in AUM, who are currently building out their USA office, based out of Houston. The team is doing a full team build out with a focus on bringing in a Director to handle execution across their two funds, predominately focused on Energy Transition. Our client make core plus and value additive investments at the corporate, asset, and management team level.

The Director will be responsible for:

1. Leading the execution and management of new investments in the energy transition sector;
2. Conducting due diligence and financial analysis on potential investment opportunities;
3. Developing and maintaining relationships with industry players, such as developers, contractors, operators and lenders;
4. Supporting the wider opportunistic energy transition strategy by providing research and analysis on market trends and opportunities;
5. Presenting investment recommendations and deal updates to the investment committee; and
6. Mentoring and coaching junior team members.

About the Candidate:

1. 8+ years’ experience with at least 2 years spent in Private Equity;
2. Experience in energy transition, renewables or infrastructure;
3. Outstanding verbal and written communication skills: exceptional critical thinking, quantitative, and analytical skills;
4. Excellent project management skills and the ability to work effectively in a deal teams, often on several transactions or potential opportunities simultaneously, under tight deadlines; and
5. Desire to work in a dynamic, entrepreneurial organization
