This position is located at our Fort Worth, Texas corporate office and has the potential to be a hybrid position with up to 50% remote work.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Collaborate with, and lead cross-functional teams of subject matter experts across all business functions in the analysis, integration, development, and implementation of market strategies and new business opportunities with new or expansion rail opportunities
  • Develop and deliver presentations to senior management.
  • Direct supervision of 5 Economic Development Regional Managers located across the Southern Region
  • Lead special projects related to new business, expansion opportunities, long term planning and strategic initiatives.
  • Generate strategic plans for enhancing the revenue base consistent with overall Company and Business Unit plans and strategies.
  • Lead, direct, plan, and implement the location and expansion of profitable industries through coordination with the BNSF Marketing groups, customers, developers, state, local officials, and with other BNSF departments.
  • Develop strategic plans for efficient and cost effective utilization of BNSF and private assets that provide for the ongoing process of expanding BNSF's strategic network.
  • Maintain an inventory of available sites; foster a broad network; and develop relationships with communities, industry/customer officials, federal, state, local government officials, economic development agencies, developers, real estate brokers, and site consultants.
  • Coordinate all aspects of locations, including track construction, lease and/or purchase, site identification, zoning, environmental impact, etc., to create quality growth.
  • Assist in development of cost/benefit (ROI) analysis, and implement the results in the negotiation of industrial projects.
  • Qualify business opportunities and work closely with BNSF Premier Transload network to provide rail solutions and alternatives.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Strong knowledge of railroad operations; general business issues; real estate matters; economics; and
  • Minimum 7 years professional work experience in economic development, transportation, engineering, real estate, marketing, economics or associated field.
  • Bachelor's degree required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • MBA or Graduate degree.
  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Business, Marketing, Engineering, Economics or Economic Development.
  • 2+ years of Corporate Real Estate and/or Economic Development experience.
  • 4+ years of engineering, rail operations, planning and development,

or industrial development experience.

  • Proficient in SalesForce.
