A major component of our mission to create transformative healthcare payment experiences involves our ability to proactive support our members, clients, retailers and internal teams with critical data and insights. We are looking for an experienced data & analytics leader rapidly advance our insight derivation across our platform and network. In partnership with infrastructure and product teams, this role will be responsible for advancing our data frameworks, internal self-service report adoption and behavior analytics workstreams.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of data analysts and scientists in execution against strategic business objectives within a FinTech organization, supporting internal, client, retailer and operational initiatives
  • Distill patterns in data, which at times may be dirty data that doesn’t make sense, pursuing opportunities to think out of the box about how to reach end objectives
  • Responsible for uncovering data anomalies, discovering business insights and identifying opportunities through the use of statistical, algorithmic, mining and visualization techniques
  • Analyze complex operational, transactional and member data (e.g. relational databases, etc.) and derive actionable insight for decision making
  • Develop presentations around insights and tell compelling stories with the data, and deliver to constituents at all levels: strategic, tactical, operational, and across all functions
  • Partner closely with development and product counterparts to integrating and prioritize varied datasets, both reflecting internal member behaviors as well as exogenous data sources, to craft a holistic understanding of member preferences and behaviors
  • Establish a formal intake and management infrastructure to balance needs of competing stakeholders and ensure optimal utilization of the team
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Produce and present meaningful recommendations, orally and visually, to influence process flows, member engagement and transaction trending by using data mining, statistical analysis and predictive modeling
  • Build predictive and analytical models to enable sustainable growth and scalable operational processes

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience leading a team
  • 5+ years of experience developing compelling presentations around insights to be delivered to leaders across the organization and external customers
  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science or Actuarial Science or related field
  • 5+ years of experience with data visualization tools (preferably tableau)
  • 10+ years of experience in advanced SQL working with relational data in large enterprise environments with large datasets (e.g. 100+ million records)


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with consumer payments/transaction data
  • Master’s degree in a quantitative/business field

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
