Direct Support Professional - Day Program 8Am - 4Pm

The Arc of Essex County is a non-profit organization that provides services and programs for individuals with developmental disabilities and their families. Our corporate office is located in Livingston, NJ and we have programs throughout Essex County.

We are currently recruiting for a Direct Support Professional to work in our Day Programs from 8am-4pm.

Duties include but are not limited to the following:

· Maintains the program’s routines and structures to provide a safe, healthy, pleasant, professional environment for each individual.

· Ensures safety by providing the level of supervision necessary for each individual as indicated in the Program Description, the individuals’ ISPs, etc.

· Provides training, supports, and assistance for each individual to enable her/him to complete daily routines in a safe, healthy, productive and dignified manner. This usually includes social, vocational, and recreational skills, hygiene, toileting, etc.

· Encourages independence by providing both the opportunity and the appropriate levels of skill training for the individuals in categories such as community activities, vocational settings, volunteer work, social skills, etc.

· Assists with serving/preparing lunch and snacks. When needed, uses scales, measuring cups, etc. to ensure correct amounts of foods. Provides the appropriate amount of training, supports, etc. Ensures that meal and snack times are safe, healthy, and pleasant.

· Maintains program inventories as assigned.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: A high school diploma or GED is required. Experience in a related field is preferred. A valid Driver's License is Required.

Sign-on Bonus:

After successful completion of training:

• $350.00

After 3 months:

*Must be good standing and expected to continue working at The Arc of Essex County:

• $200.00
