Job Description
This position is responsible for using analytical skills for direct marketing campaign selection, performance analysis, forecasting, planning and identifying and solving problems affecting our campaigns for one or more insurance product line. The analyst utilizes strong business acumen and analysis skills to understand and quantify the steps required, impacts, and benefits associated with marketing campaigns, process, rules, policy, etc to impact performance.
The analyst is responsible for investigating direct marketing campaign performance, identifying and evaluating options for improving direct marketing efforts, defining requirements and ensuring the effective use of information in meeting the needs of the business.
Business Domain Analysis
  • Frames and structures cross-departmental problems with minimal supervision
  • Viewed as analytics resource in specific business area(s)
  • Understanding and support of core metrics and key performance indicators for business, leading and lagging indicators and related historical performance
  • Utilizes knowledge in specific business domain(s) and industry to provide operating context for analysis and business problem solving.
Business Reporting, & Business Intelligence
  • Collect, manipulate and analyze datasets
  • Utilizes standard formulas and methods as are common in the industry and relevant to the current data in all phases (collection, analysis, reporting)
  • Solves problems in straightforward situations; analyses possible solutions using technical experience, judgment and precedents within level of authority
  • Understands key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own work
  • Impacts quality of own work and the work of others on the team; works within guidelines and policies
  • Manages own workload and occasionally provides informal guidance to colleagues with less experience
Communications
  • Explains complex information to others in straightforward situations
  • Prepare reports or visualizations: graphs, charts, dashboards
  • Serve as a liaison between internal and external technical and business groups.
  • Champion relevant data/information to appropriate users in an organization and monitor for usage/relevance/quality feedback.
  • Use reports and analyses to help management make decisions and set goals
  • Contributes to change initiatives by suggesting ways to clarify ambiguity

Job Requirements:
  • Awareness of where specific business unit or data domain information is housed within the enterprise (e.g. EDW, BIDW, data-marts, etc.)
  • Familiarity with how the business works and how it is executed (People, Process and Technology)
  • Basic SAS proficiency
  • Data Skills
    • Works with basic tools such as excel to operate on data
    • Basic SQL proficiency
    • Basic SAS proficiency
    • Ability to get data into and out of tools (basic ETL)
  • Understands conceptual model design
  • Understands basic data modeling concepts/techniques
  • Business Domain Skills
    • Strong business acumen and analysis skills to understand and quantify the steps required, impacts, and benefits associated with implementing or changing business process, rules, policy, etc to impact performance
    • Ability to identify relationships in data, changes and trending over time
    • Familiarity with how the business works and how it is executed (People, Process and Technology)
    • Familiarity of applicable business concepts, processes, and systems for business domain
  • Works with basic tools such as excel to operate on data
  • Ability to identify relationships in data, changes and trending over time
  • Ability to incorporate relevant data (KPI’s) into cohesive and comprehensive reports
  • Strong business acumen and analysis skills to understand and quantify the steps required, impacts, and benefits associated with implementing or changing business process, rules, policy, etc to impact performance
  • Ability to get data into and out of tools (basic ETL)
  • Reporting & BI
    • Basic understanding of BI applications (Tableau, PowerBI, BO, etc.)
    • Ability to leverage existing applications such as Excel to produce actionable reports
    • Ability to incorporate relevant data (KPI’s) into cohesive and comprehensive reports
  • BS in Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Statistics, or related field.
  • Awareness of how data is modeled for a specific business unit or data domain
  • Data Knowledge

Compensation may vary based on the job level, your geographic work location, position incentive plan and exemption status.

Base Salary Range:
$74,300.00 - $111,500.00
