Here's a summary of responsibilities:

Reporting to the SVP, Chief of NGB Services & Sport Operations, the Director, Sport & Athlete Services (SAS) Strategic Projects is a key member of the SAS division and assists the division in planning and executing a wide range of complex duties related to special projects and grant management. This position will serve as a strategic partner for the Chief of Sport & Athlete Services and will assist the SAS division in developing initiatives and deliverables. The Director will also collaborate with the SAS division to manage grants, develop strategic partnerships, and act as the liaison to the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Foundation (USOPF).

Here's how you'll have an impact:

  • Serve as a key member of the NGB Services & Sport Operations leadership team. Contribute to overall strategy, including short- and long-term goals to enhance operational support across the Sport & Athlete Services division.
  • Serve as strategic partner, facilitate key priorities, and manage a wide range of matters on behalf of the Chief of Sport & Athlete Services.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Ensure the division’s grant management strategy aligns with the campaign’s priorities. Partner with project leads to ensure that restricted funds are being used appropriately for delivering on program goals, metrics, accountabilities, and milestones as identified. Collaborate to shift project parameters as appropriate based on business need and communicate accordingly with USOPF or specific department/team lead. In collaboration with Audit & Compliance and Finance teams, develop and implement grant management policies and procedures as needed.
  • Represent the organization, the division, and the Chief of Sport & Athlete Services at Team USA events, conferences, and other relevant programs.
  • Identify strategic opportunities for the SAS division. Develop plans and implement key initiatives and priorities.
  • Oversee SAS division strategic partnership opportunities with third-party vendors and other stakeholders as needed. Negotiate contracts when appropriate.
  • Provide direction and leadership to the Sport & Athlete Project team, including hiring, mentoring, coaching, and motivating to maximize collective performance.
  • Contribute to an atmosphere for outstanding teamwork through clear expectations, frequent communication, and providing fair and consistent feedback. Manage performance of team members effectively.
  • Serve as the primary liaison for the SAS division with USOPF on all fundraising opportunities. On behalf of the SAS division, support the implementation and coordination of the USOPF’s comprehensive campaign for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic & Paralympic Games.
  • Develop, direct, and implement key division projects, plans, and initiatives from inception to completion, ensuring they meet aggressive timelines, performance, cost, and quality objectives.

Here are the skills and experience you'll need to be effective:

  • 8+ years of experience in sport management and/or consulting
  • Experience in leading internal/external customer experience improvement projects
  • Bachelor’s degree with a preferred emphasis in Sports Management, Business Administration, Economics, Finance, or Statistics or equivalent work experience

  • Benefits: The full-time position will be eligible for USOPC benefits. You can view a summary here or download a pdf here. 
  • Hiring Pay Range: $90,513 - $114,952
  • This is a full-time, exempt position intended to work 40 hours per week.
  • Bonus:  This position will be eligible for the Annual Incentive Award Program at a 20% target. This program is subject to change or elimination by the USOPC at any time at its sole discretion.
