Job Description
Our Mission at Scythe

Humanity has lost touch with nature - we've traded dirt and trees for asphalt, and we rely on loud, polluting, gas-powered machines to care for our limited natural spaces.

Scythe is forging a new future by building intelligent, all-electric machines that unlock a new superpower: the ability to care for the outdoors pollution-free at enormous scale. From today's first steps in landscape maintenance to full-fledged re-terraforming in the future, Scythe is pioneering autonomous machinery that supports the ingenuity of humans, multiplying our power to nurture our planet.

At Scythe, you'll work with a team of world-class experts in everything from computer vision to mechanical engineering, pushing the limits of possibility and growing by overcoming hurdles along the way.

The world needs what we're building—come join us in making it a reality.

Digital Product Manager at Scythe

Scythe is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Digital Product Manager to help bring our innovative robotics solutions "beyond the bot" to life. As a Digital Product Manager, you will be responsible for championing the development, launch, continuous improvement, and expansion of our digital product suite. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, customers, and stakeholders to develop and prioritize features, ensure product-market fit, manage the digital product roadmap, and drive effective decision-making. We are looking for a customer-obsessed individual who thrives in ambiguity and can blend achievability with desirability.

What you'll do at Scythe:

  • Ensure effective communication of new product features and benefits to customers and support all areas of the organization, including Sales, Support, and Services.
  • Champion the development, launch, and continuous improvement of Scythe's digital product suite by collaborating with teams across the organization and externally with key customers and stakeholders.
  • Conduct market and customer discovery through customer visits, interviews, and surveys. Evangelize the customer and drive company-wide understanding of the market and customer context.
  • Foster cross-functional partnerships and effectively communicate roadmaps, priorities, experiments, and decisions to various audiences.
  • Analyze competition and align goals, success metrics, and roadmap with Scythe's mission based on data analysis, market research, and usability studies.
  • Manage the product roadmap for short and long-term feature development in a hybrid hardware-software development environment, reprioritizing product backlogs as necessary.
  • Drive teams to weigh tradeoffs, make effective decisions, and stay flexible in pursuit of the most effective outcomes.
  • Write product requirement documents (PRDs) and prioritize features; working closely with Engineering and Operations to assess feasibility, adjust scope, and schedule development.

What you know well:

  • Effectively collaborating across different departments to bring concepts from idea to reality; designing scalable and extensible solutions while working closely with engineering to ensure feasibility.
  • Communicating effectively, both written and verbal, with an intuition for communication strategy. Ability to present to leadership and external audiences.
  • Thriving in a fast-growing startup environment.
  • Delivering successful software products.
  • Working on and building cutting edge technology!
  • Experience and exposure to software product management (preferably 5+ years).

What you've maybe done:

  • Demonstrated commitment to sustainable land stewardship.
  • Utilized project management and collaboration tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence, Figma, Slack, etc.).
  • Acquired a Bachelor's degree in business management, engineering, or a related field.

Why Scythe?

  • 401(k) retirement plan (non-matching today).
  • Competitive salary and equity compensation.
  • Fully-sponsored medical, vision, and dental insurance, including 75% funded dependent coverage.
  • Join an early-stage but well-capitalized startup, allowing you to have a huge impact alongside an awesome team of experts while shipping something the world has never seen before.
  • Be a core member of a small, focused, innovative team.
  • Flexible remote/in-office work options; headquarters near beautiful Boulder, CO, offering the opportunity to enjoy the bounties of nature and open spaces close to home, including mountain biking, hiking, skiing, and more.
  • Satellite offices in Austin, TX, and Vero Beach, FL.
