Job Summary


  • To envision, develop, and support roadmap and future state processes for specific business outcome capabilities for Caterpillar. This will include defining, identifying, and guiding implementation of best in class digital offerings for the needed business capabilities.
  • This role will have responsibility the self-service account management stage of our customer journey, utilizing our account management portal, MyCatFinancial.


Job Duties


  • Work closely with the brand organization to understand the desired representation of the organization digitally.
  • Assist with presentations for leaders and others to influence direction and assist with organization change management for digital needs.
  • Collaborate with others in the digital organization to define objectives and develop approaches to solving challenges.
  • Lead collaborative workshop sessions.
  • Serve as Product Owner of a global account management solution.
  • Analyze web analytics to assist in making digital recommendations.
  • Keep abreast of emerging behaviors, technologies, and companies that may impact the organization.
  • Research and recognize digital trends, specifically in the online banking, customer/dealer portal, and account management space.
  • Contribute to competitive analysis and identify gaps and opportunities in the marketplace.
  • Seek input from relevant areas of the business that should have inputs to this business capability.
  • Understand the impact and changes in behavior needed to adopt or make changes in digital solutions.


Incumbent will see information about the real, underlying needs of the customer, beyond those expressed initially, and match these to available (or customized) products or services. Incumbent may influence tactical business decisions (for example, providing key ideas for major decisions such as changing department policy, making the basic technical choices for a new process). Understanding, evaluating and reacting to routine problems or situations with external contacts is also part of this assignment. Interaction is within the framework of existing business policies and practices and/or established business relationships.


Incumbent may consider new courses of action which complement existing policies and short term goals. He/she may find a need for new policies or procedures. Though general unit goals are in place, incumbent sets the plan and determines the priorities and processes that will achieve unit or Caterpillar ends. Problems and issues usually involve careful interpretation, analysis or diagnosis. Position must identify the relevant information to develop solutions or approaches. Developing solutions usually requires in-depth analysis that cannot be done quickly. Problems and issues have a variety of interpretations, and require careful evaluation and reference to a large number of options. Incumbent must first identify the nature of a complex or undefined problem and then develop the best solution or application from numerous alternatives.


Incumbent develops well-prepared action plans for the current year and has a clear sense of what needs to be achieved in the year to come. Position receives assignments that tell what needs to be done and when it needs to be completed. Incumbent can recommend change practices and procedures to get the desired results.


Travel will be dependent on the application or process supported but in most cases will be minimal (10% of working time).


Background/Experience


  • Experience either leading or influencing teams as a digital Product Owner/Manager
  • Data driven with experience building out actionable reporting to drive customer engagement
  • Experience partnering with IS teams, internal business teams and third party orgs to capture and document business requirements to deliver ongoing platform enhancements.
  • 3-5 years experience developing and executing global implementation/enhancement strategies within a digital platform
  • Understanding of UI/UX and brand standards, with ability to create an engaging end user experience, and necessary awareness and training materials.
  • Understanding of global legal and compliance requirements related to consent and eSignature collection (and proper implementation)
  • 1-3 years experience working with a self-service account management platform, ideally within a Salesforce Lightning Community


Job requires highly developed interpersonal skills to deal with sensitive, emotional or potentially controversial situations. Incumbent often needs to create behavior change in people (including customers, suppliers, other employees, dealers, etc.) and/or obtain the cooperation and commitment of peers and business partners.


A college or university degree or certification that is equivalent plus five to eight years of progressively responsible job experiences that demonstrate both breadth of business knowledge and depth of digital skillsets is required for this position. The right candidate will have a curiosity about and a deep interest in how digital technology and systems are powering the way users interact with brands, in both B2B and B2C context.


The right candidate will be comfortable working in a dynamic environment where digital is still evolving as a core offering. The ideal candidate consistently produces high-quality work by asking the right questions, thinking critically about problems, and relentlessly pursuing quality in everything they do.


This position should be familiar with project management methodologies as they will both lead and participate in multiple projects representing expertise for digital offerings and strategic alignment.


In addition, the incumbent should have a good knowledge of Caterpillar policies, standards, procedures, and a broad understanding of Caterpillar’s organization.


Compensation & Benefits


Base Salary for this role ranges from $109,860.00 - $175,776.00. Actual salary will be based on experience. Total rewards package, beyond base salary included:
