Job Description
Some people tell the stories best with imagery. Sometimes those people also happen to be proactive, creative and an overall a joy to work with. Jackson is looking for that kind of storyteller to be our next digital designer. The creative team juggles different brands and deadlines with a commitment to doing great work for our (mostly) great clients. If you enjoy a collaborative atmosphere as much as you enjoy getting after it with minimal supervision, then Jackson might be your sweet spot.


The Digital Designer is primarily responsible for working in coordination with the Interactive team, under the management of the Associate Creative Director - Digital, providing the design, implementation and maintenance of a variety of both internal and external client facing web interfaces, social graphics, digital presentations, training materials and digital media campaigns. The Digital Designer will have strong communication skills as well as being a motivated self-starter with dedication to the completion of tasks on time.


Essential Functions


  • Working in teams and independently to brainstorm projects
  • Present designs to internal client teams
  • Communicate with internal teams to support the design needs of projects throughout the development and deployment phases
  • Translate text-based ideas into visual communications that are simple to understand
  • Translations of wireframes into detailed and finalized designs
  • Produce high quality design work as necessary in alignment with the client's and agency's high standards.
  • Project organization and completion in accordance with schedules and budgets


Knowledge/Skills/Abilities


Required:


  • Proficiency in using Photoshop, Illustrator, XD and PowerPoint
  • Strong time management, organizational and critical thinking skills
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Base understanding of HTML and CSS fundamentals with the ability to concept and design considering implementation limitations
  • Ability to problem solve and think critically - using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems
  • Expert in creating designs that are visually stunning and effectively communicate
  • Excellent understanding of design principles along with current and emerging design trends
  • Excellent, pro-active interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Ability to read and comprehend instruction and correspondence
  • Ability to work efficiently under stress
  • 1+ years of relevant work experience
  • Strong sense of urgency and dedication to completion of task

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Graphic or Web Design, or other related field; or equivalent work experience in a position focused on UI/UX design and/or graphic design
  • Able to follow direction and work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to clients and other associates of the organization
  • Proactive, resourceful, quick learner, multitasker, strong team player with a strong work ethic
  • Ability to effectively and efficiently multi-task within strict timeframes with multiple stakeholders

Physical Demands


While performing the duties of this position, the Associate is occasionally required to move about the office, use computers, phone, video conferencing and other general office equipment. The Associate must occasionally lift up to 20 pounds.


Work Environment


While performing the duties of this position in-office the noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.


Work Location: The position is located at Jackson's home office near Greenville, SC.
