Summary


The Digital Design Assistant is a proactive, multi-tasker with a “can-do” attitude. This position requires the ability to produce initial layouts for all digital efforts (specifically relating to all drops for all seasonal catalogs as they launch on the website. This position manages the creation and routing of packets for approvals and meetings, makes minor edits to files and other duties as assigned to help the Digital Design Associates. Must be flexible, with the sense that changes are inevitable and must be addressed head-on. Must have the ability to follow Sundance schedules, calendars and adhere to the yearly production schedule. As a member of the Sundance Digital Design team, the Digital Design Assistant may also be asked to design minor projects and help catalog print and marketing teams as needed.


Responsibilities


  • Adhere to all deadlines or proactively bring to light any issues with upcoming deadlines.
  • Assist in finding editorial and archived, abstract photography and design files. Help solve storage issues, provide information and suggest improvements. Bring to light issues as they arise.
  • Participate in reviewing cadence of emails, homepages, landing pages and social creative prior to presentation and launch.
  • Ensure digital photography requests are being communicated and submitted properly and on time to the Studio Manager; including file names; product information and meeting deadlines.
  • Audit seasonal customer-facing site creative and emails: ensure spelling, linking and color presentations are accurate.
  • Suggest new template ideas, elements and customer experiences.
  • Assure the integrity of projects is maintained when edits are requested from the CEO, CMO, VP of Creative, AD and QC and inventory reviews.
  • Additional tasks that may be required/requested: Place appropriate photography, copy and font application to creative assets. Create packet for, and meet as requested with, VP of Jewelry and Home to make jewelry selections for online jewelry presence and jewelry and home adjacencies on gateways, emails, specialty pages, etc. Place copy from copywriter, marketing and/or AD into pre-final designs. Place images into template for weekly homepage updates. Hand off final, approved files to digital production team. Create and manage distribution of OLO shot sheets for review and approval.
  • Collaborate on project details with Digital Design Associate(s) including initial product placements on emails and site creative.
  • Assist in creating designs and mockups for index headers and all related assets, crop, extend and help manage implementation and ranking of masonry images and products on index pages for Featured shops; as requested.
  • Create routings, QC packets and approval packets. Make minor design edits.
  • Help digital creative, production and marketing teams with problem solving and be proactive with upcoming project strategies.
  • Support for all website designers in asset creation as needed.
  • Participate in creative, marketing and merchandising brainstorming of seasonal themes, shops and stories; helping with implementation to the website and across emails.
  • Assist with the initial creation of digital design assets for seasonal marketing emails, website creative and homepages for all catalog, special offers and inserts, chapters and specialty and holiday shops.


Qualifications


  • Associates Degree in web design, graphic design, or similar. Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered
  • Proficient knowledge of InDesign, Illustrator, Acrobat, MS Suite
  • Extensive knowledge of Adobe Photoshop
  • Knowledge of typography, including but not limited to: kerning, tracking, spacing, as well as the ability to research new fonts for appropriate communications
  • Graphic design experience a plus
  • Experience in website design or production across multiple devices and platforms including bootstrap and responsive sites a plus
  • 1+ years of related experience working with digital assets for either web or graphic/print production
  • Working knowledge of Dropbox, WorkFront, Slack a plus
