Job Summary


*Telework (within Minnesota or neighboring states) and flexible hour options are available.*

This position exists to oversee digital content and its governance for the Licensing Division. This includes completing updates to forms utilized by business units within the division, planning and implementing digital content-related projects, developing and updating content for the division’s public webpages, and administering divisional content on the OIG SharePoint site collection.

Responsibilities include:

  • Use a high degree of proficiency when creating documents with industry-grade publishing tools to deliver professional graphically designed documents that have a focus on user experience
  • Ensure that digital content and related projects and processes are accurate, accessible, aligned with the OIG’s priorities and directives, and comply with DHS web standards and initiatives
  • Serve as division’s content strategy functional expert for public web, print, and digital communications, managing relationships with managers, supervisors, staff, and contractors as needed
  • Define and maintain strategic use of SharePoint application for divisional content in collaboration with OIG site collection administrator
  • Provide technical assistance to business area staff during the document design and development period to help increase efficiencies during the production phase

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

2 years of professional experience creating digital content including content for public webpages.

Experience must include:

  • Experience using general markup languages including HTML/CCS/XML
  • Knowledge of privacy and government data practices laws
  • Experience with publishing tools and software such as Abode Creative Cloud Suite, Adobe Acrobat, and/or Microsoft Office Suite

Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalist, English, Information Design, Interactive Design or closely related field may substitute for 1 year of professional experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Exercise effective judgement, sensitivity and creativity to changing needs and situations
  • Develop and maintain professional working relationships and work collaboratively to achieve Division goals and meet established timetables and quality standards
  • Knowledge of Commonlook accessibility software
  • Knowledge of Section 508 of Rehabilitation Act, W3C WCAG 2.0 and best practices related to accessibility
  • Variety of experiences working effectively with others from different backgrounds and cultures
  • Experience using general markup languages including HTML/CCS/XML
