Bullitt County Stone – Rogers Group – Shepherdsville, KY

Full Time

Day Shift positions are available with approximate shift times of 5 am – 5 pm.

Starting pay for this position will be set at $28/hr. Overall pay will be determined based on the candidate’s experience and skill set.

Bullitt County Stone is a limestone mine/quarry currently seeking an experienced individual to fill a position as a HEAVY EQUIPMENT MECHANIC in Shepherdsville, KY . The successful candidate for this position will be responsible for servicing a variety of mining and quarry equipment – including specialty equipment utilized in the underground mining process (i.e., drills, bolters, scalers), as well as fixed plant equipment.

This role requires previous experience as a mechanic working on heavy equipment. The role will be responsible for performing repairs, routine maintenance, and inspections on a wide variety of mining and quarry equipment and fixed plant equipment. The applicant must have a demonstrated ability to troubleshoot, diagnose and repair a wide range of service issues that affect major components such as engines, brake systems, transmissions, torque converters, hydraulic systems, drive train components, heating/cooling and electrical systems, as well as other systems generally encountered in the industry.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Inspect machines for abnormalities or defects.
  • Perform housekeeping duties and work area checks.
  • Weekend work/overtime may be required.
  • Perform heavy or major maintenance repairs as needed.
  • Be able to weld and fabricate, as needed.
  • Minimum of two years of experience working on heavy equipment.
  • Heavy equipment parts familiarization including parts catalogs, procurement, handling, storage, and cost of heavy equipment parts.
  • Uncompromising focus on safety excellence.
  • Operate a company vehicle on public highways and job sites.
  • Perform routine scheduled maintenance on heavy equipment and trucks.
  • Ability to climb and perform work on heights of 20 feet.
  • Ability to stoop, push, kneel, twist, and lift 70lbs.
  • Able to work in all kinds of weather conditions.
  • Complete maintenance and work order repair records.
  • Ability to operate mobile equipment.
  • Capable of working with limited supervision and scheduling own work.
  • Able to develop working relationships with other employees and vendors.
