Dialysis Registered Nurse, Per Diem

Under the supervision of the Nurse Manager at the SFGH Renal Center, Department of Medicine, the Registered Nurse is responsible for chronic hemodialysis patients. This includes assessment, treatment planning, patient education on hemodialysis and evaluation of outcomes. The RN works directly with patients as an integral member of a multidisciplinary team. The RN also actively participates in assisting physicians with medical assessments to ensure dialysis adequacy. Direct patient care includes initiate hemodialysis treatments, administrating medications, education, Lab drawings, and ordering medical supplies.

ining unit agreement are very wide, however a job offer will typically fall in the range of 80% - 120% of the established mid-point. An offer will take into consideration the experience of the final candidate AND the current salary level of individuals working at UCSF in a similar role.

For roles covered by a bargaining unit agreement, there will be specific rules about where a new hire would be placed on the range.

The Nephrology Division spans multiple campuses with faculty and staff located at the UCSF Parnassus, Laurel Heights, San Francisco Veterans Affairs Medical Center (SFVAMC), and Zuckerberg San Francisco General (ZSFG). The Nephrology Division consists of over 100 faculty, fellows, and staff whose work is grounded in deep commitment to, and respect for patients with kidney disease.

The Division has approximately 40 faculty members, 15 admin and research staff, 16 fellows, and an annual budget of $11.1 million. For over 50 years, the Nephrology Division has employed and trained leaders in academic nephrology, superb clinical research scientists and basic scientists, and outstanding clinical nephrologists. Our faculty are leading experts in adult nephrology: including acute kidney injury, chronic kidney disease, hypertension, electrolyte disorders, and kidney transplantation. • Experience working with hemodialysis patients
• BSN and the legal requirements to practice as a Registered Nurse as determined by the California Board of Registered Nursing
• Six (6) months of clinical experience
• Ability to cannulate fistula/graft access
• Knowledges and abilities essential to the successful performance of the duties assigned to the position
• Ability to hear audio alarms
• Ability to stand on feet for 12 hours
• Ability to identify color codes

• Certified Nephrology Nurse
• Two (2) years experience as Hemodialysis nurse
• Bilingual – Spanish/Tagalog/Chinese

• Active American Heart Association CPR Certification
• Active Registered Nurse licensure in the State of California
