Dialogue Designer (Star Wars Fps)

In collaboration with Lucasfilm, the Star Wars FPS Team is developing a new AAA FPS in the Star Wars galaxy. Inspired by classic titles like Dark Forces and Jedi Knight: Dark Forces 2, our story-driven single player game is being developed from the ground up leveraging the power of Unreal Engine 5. We’re combining this inspiration and technology with Respawn’s pedigree for making best-in-class shooters to deliver a brand new experience our players will love.
We are looking for a Dialogue Designer to join our Star Wars FPS team and own important pieces of our narrative systems. You will manage narrative data in our proprietary systems, ensuring consistency and quality of dialogue elements throughout production. While this is not a writing position, you will play an important part by delivering dialogue content inside Unreal Engine. We are picturing someone with production sensibilities and a desire to expand their experience in narrative design!
What You'll Do...

• Time animation gestures and add polish to timing of run time conversations.
• Help develop compelling, engaging, and immersive dialogue and narrative system experiences
• Contribute to the consistency of character realization and development.
• Reporting to the Lead Systems Designer, you will manage an expansive dialogue database of lines, rules, and tags for accuracy and consistency
• Provide stub writing support for the game's characters when needed
• Work with the Narrative team to determine dialogue events and create rules in a proprietary dialogue database for both in and out of combat dialogue
• Work with contacts across departments to receive and refine narrative content feedback

You will have…

• Ability to articulate feedback and apply notes from multiple sources.
• Ability to write, communicate and maintain design documentation.
• Have a passion for interactive storytelling.
• Hands-on experience with Unreal Engine and Blueprints Visual Scripting system or equivalent.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills.

Us Compensation And Benefits
The base salary ranges listed below are for the defined geographic market pay zones in these states. If you reside outside of these locations, a recruiter will advise on the base salary range and benefits for your specific location.

Salary offered will be determined based on numerous relevant business and candidate factors including, for example, education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, and business or organizational needs.
BASE SALARY RANGES

• California (depending on location e.g. Los Angeles vs. Sacramento):

º $78,500 - $119,650

• New York (depending on location e.g. Manhattan vs. Buffalo):

º $73,150 - $119,650

• Jersey City, NJ:

º $84,750 - $119,650

• Colorado (depending on location e.g. Denver vs. Colorado Springs):

º $73,150 - $97,500

• Washington (depending on location e.g. Seattle vs. Spokane):

º $73,150 - $105,250
Base salary is just one part of the overall compensation at EA. We also offer a package of benefits including paid time off (3 weeks per year to start), 80 hours per year of sick time, 16 paid company holidays per year, 10 weeks paid time off to bond with baby (following 1 year of service), medical/dental/vision insurance, life insurance, disability insurance, and 401(k) to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity.
