More about your role


Our South East (Northen Home Countries & East Anglia) region has ambitious growth plans in the coming years to provide multi-tenure homes for ourpeople.


As a Development Manager for the South East region you will support the senior development team in managing: project cost, planning, marketing, programming, procurement for our residential developments. You will assist the Head of Development and Senior Development Managers to coordinate a range of land and s106 new business bids in line with the approved Development Strategy and Group wide growth ambitions. You will act as a technical and delivery lead in managing a programme of development schemes including significant regeneration projects, and negotiate terms for appointment and ongoing management of consultants, contractors and other suppliers.


You will be required to be geographically mobile across the Northen Home Countries & East Anglia region, with regular meetings with your team in London.

More about you


To achieve in this role we are looking for a Development Manager or Assistant Development Manager who has had exposure of managing developments at differing stages in their lifecycle from acquisition through to site development. Ideally we are looking for someone who has an understanding of the commercial and financial requirements of all housing of all tenures although we will support you to gain an understanding across all tenures if your career to date has specialised in specific tenures only.


In addition to project management we are looking for someone with a strong network across the South East of England. Ideally you will have land buying experience and have knowledge of both conditional and unconditional land purchase agreements. You will also be highly numerate, commercially minded, and be as at ease with complex models and appraisals as you are with planning and S106 negotiations. You will also need to be highly analytical, able to identify risks and opportunities from current and future developments and act accordingly.
