The need for affordable housing in the U.S. has never been more critical. At the same time, the affordable housing industry is transitioning from a highly fragmented landscaped dominated by non-profit organizations and government actors, to one in which the largest investment managers in the world are deploying capital and sophisticated developers are expanding rapidly. Elmington is a playing a prominent role in this transition, bringing creativity and scale to bear in the challenge to address housing affordability in the U.S.

The Development Associate is an integral part of a small team focused on affordable housing investment and development.

- Raising debt and equity capital
- Creating and implementing new financing strategies
- Property re-zonings
- Develop strategic relationships with other developers, owners, elected officials and other stakeholders
- Site selection
- Source and evaluate new investment and development opportunities
- Coordinate real estate due diligence
- Coordinate design and construction teams
- Experience in real estate investing and development preferred but not required
- MBA or equivalent
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
- Regularly required to talk or hear
- Frequently sit, stand and walk
- Vision abilities to include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and the ability to adjust focus
- Temperature in the workplace is typically moderate
- Frequently required to use hands or fingers to handle or feel objects, tools or controls
