MISSION STATEMENT


Social Science Services (SSS) Inc., dba Cedar House Life Change Center (CHLCC) is dedicated to improving the lives of those suffering from chemical dependency by providing evidence-based, high-quality therapeutic clinical treatment services while educating and engaging the community through open communication and outreach activities.

What started as a small 12-bed alcohol treatment facility for men in 1973, named “Amigo House”, is now a 125-bed treatment facility dedicated to assisting all adults in overcoming the challenges of chemical dependence in order to create “A Total Life Change.” The current treatment facility, “Cedar House Life Change Center”, provides residential and outpatient services for adult men and women.

Cedar House Life Change Center (CHLCC) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation. Centrally located to serve the Inland Empire, CHLCC provides a complete continuum of care to residents of San Bernardino and Riverside Counties. To match the needs of the culturally diverse population served, CHLCC employs a culturally diverse staff of highly skilled professionals. All CHLCC’s programs are licensed and certified by the State of California Department of Health Care Services (DHCS).

DUTY STATEMENT AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Fund Development
  • Process donations and prepare acknowledgment letters and other correspondence.
  • Conduct preliminary research on prospective corporations, foundations, and individual donors.
  • Reconcile donations with the Finance Department monthly
  • Prospect and procure donations for fundraising events.
  • Create monthly fundraising reports and dashboards.
  • Events and Volunteers
    • Maintain guest lists
    • Gather and prepare registration materials and other duties as assigned for fundraising events.
    • Collect and track volunteer hours
    • Prospect and procure donations for fundraising events.

  • Coordinate production and mailing of spring and year-end appeal letters.
  • Maintain guest lists
  • Maintain foundation, corporation, and individual donor files
  • Manage relationships on the database and communicate accordingly with various stakeholders (Board of Directors, CEO, and the Director of Marketing and Development).
Requirements:


QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Ability to work independently with little supervision
  • A sense of humor and a positive attitude
  • A minimum of two years’ experience in an administrative position, preferably in a not-for-profit development office
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Ability to present information concisely and effectively, both verbally and in writing
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite
  • A self-starter, data, and deadline-driven, with an ability to multi-task with solid organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work
