Designer-Detailer /Assist. Proj Mgr (Autocad / Solidworks)

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

• Collaborative environment where you will be taught and exposed to many aspects of Custom Architectural Metals Fabrication and Construction Management.
• This Mid-Level position is a Great Opportunity for growth in a role with challenging and diverse responsibilities.
• Includes Assistant Project Management responsibilities with potential to eventually advance into larger Project Management role after demonstrated success.
• Working in Philadelphia office, creating drawings in AutoCAD for large Construction Projects in Philadelphia, Washington DC and Princeton.
• Mechanical Engineering and/or Architecture Majors preferred.

All Custom Fabrications in Stainless Steel, Bronze, Aluminum & Glass in Museums, Universities, Commercial Office & Government Buildings, etc.(Historic Reproductions, Guardrails, Cladding, Panels, Canopies, Doors & Entrances, Plate Surrounds, Castings, Misc Ornamental Elements)

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Utilizing your Design and CAD skills, you will review Architect’s conceptual drawings and then create detailed designs in AutoCAD for Architect’s review & for shop fabrication.
2. Review and understand project documents (e.g., drawings, specifications, changes, materials, finishes, schedules. Create detailed drawings/designs for Custom Architectural Metal items.
3. Assist Project Manager and/or Operations Manager with project management tasks.
4. Develop and maintain productive relationships with Construction Manager, Erectors, Vendors and other Crescent Designed Personnel.
5. Assist with Field Measuring, attend job meetings and visit job sites as required.
6. Own your Projects - Complete all tasks in a timely and professional manner.
7. Occasional Travel to Washington, DC.

REQUIREMENTS:

Education: Bachelor’s Degree.Prefer Mechanical Engineering or Architecture.

Experience:Minimum 3 -5 years AutoCAD detailing experience. Prefer experience with architectural metals, glass, millwork or mechanical or industrial design.

Design Software: - AutoCAD expertise required.SolidWorks & Inventor helpful.

Design Mindset: - Must demonstrate a Mechanical and Design aptitude and have a good understanding of how things can be built.

Interpersonal: - Good communication & interpersonal skills are an absolute requirement!Must be able to handle challenging situations with a professional, constructive & positive attitude.

Organization & Decision-Making: - Should be organized, able to multi-task and prioritize. Problem-solver with strong math aptitude.

Physical: - Must have sufficient level of physical fitness to accomplish field measuring duties.
