Job Description
PURPOSE:
To provide kitchen design support to all members of the sales and marketing team for the assigned brand.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
. Independently create from simple to moderately complicated designs and be able to check same level of work;
. Write moderately complex installation instructions;
. Create design packets to include floor plans, installation instructions, perspectives, elevations, molding details, hardware/accessory details and items lists;
. Effectively manage assigned projects and associated deadlines;
. Complete training modules and assignments as scheduled;
. Consistently deliver designs following existing design techniques, processes and procedures;
. Remain current on all AWC product changes and introductions;
. Ability to research and interpret appliance specifications;
. Support product launch including proofing Specification Guide(s);
. Remain current on all design trends and all aspects of computer aided design;
. Build effective business relationships with coworkers and internal clients; and
. Other jobs as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This job typically has no supervisory responsibilities.
QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and ability required.
Education, Experience and Skills
. Undergraduate degree in interior or architectural design, drafting, relevant work experience may be considered;
. 1-3 years experience in kitchen and bath design; drafting or architectural design work required;
. Holding or interest in pursuing AKBD certification a plus;
. Solid understanding of Microsoft Office;
. Intermediate skills in computer assisted design software, 20-20 preferred; knowledge of AutoCAD a plus;
. Excellent oral and written communication and organization skills;
. Ability to work in a fast paced, often changing environment;
. Ability to work in a team environment; and
. Desire to constantly improve skills on all levels.
Language Skills:
Ability to read, and interpret common business documents including technical reports, charts, graphs and diagrams. Ability to listen and communicate effectively with customers/clients in an effort to respond to common inquires or complaints from customers/clients, members of the business community and public.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to interpret graphs and diagrams. Understand and calculate angles.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Typical office environment. Noise level is usually moderate. Some travel, both in and out of town, is required. Hours will vary as necessitated by business. Occasional evening and weekend work is required.
