Deputy General Manager Of Operations & Logistics (Solar Manufacturer)

Acara Solutions has been providing staffing industry services to advanced manufacturing firms throughout the country for 65 years. One of our large clients (over 10,000 employees) with an international presence has a solar manufacturing 'startup' going on in the Phoenix region. We are helping them find a Deputy General Manager for this startup plant.

This individual will manage the quality department and logistics, the planning department, EH&S, the IT department, capital expenditure budgets and reporting.

1. Oversees all aspects of assigned task to quality department/logistics and planning department/EHS and IT department and manage the daily operation.
2. Maintains open communication with plant manager, departments managers (quality department/logistics and planning department/EHS and IT department) and employees regarding achievement productivity goals.
3. Solve problems at their root, recommending solutions for equipment, people, and process and working with cross functional teams to deploy them.
4. In partnership with the Training team, help deliver training and guidance to grow quality department/logistics and planning department/EHS and IT department and help develop new employees.
5. Coaches and develops quality department/logistics and planning department/EHS and IT department managers and develops succession planning.
6. Develop systems and processes that track and optimize productivity and standards, metrics, and performance targets for quality department/logistics and planning department/EHS and IT department.
7. Lead and foster a strong Quality and Safety culture across all areas of the plant while achieving performance.
8. Champion innovative ideas and breakthrough solutions.
9. Empower decision-making within the team and to take immediate action to resolve problems.

Required Skills / Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree - ideally in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain Management or Operations Management related field

Min 10 years of experience leading a Production Planning & Maintenance/Engineering department in a production-oriented electronics company

- The above experience should include:

--experience/knowledge of federal and AZ State laws and regulations related to EH&S

--experience/knowledge with local logistics and compliance

Preferred Skills / Qualifications:

20 years of experience

Solar panel manufacturing plant experience a plus
