We are currently seeking a skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic team. This role is critical in ensuring that our dental office runs smoothly and our patients receive top-notch dental care. The Dental Assistant will support our dental care delivery by preparing treatment rooms, patients, instruments, and materials.

Responsibilities:

• Taking and developing dental radiographs (x-rays)
• Assisting the dentist during a variety of treatment procedures
• Helping patients feel comfortable before, during and after dental treatment
• Making impressions of patients' teeth for study casts (models of teeth)
• Asking about the patient's medical history and taking blood pressure and pulse
• Providing patients with instructions for oral care following surgery or other dental treatment procedures
• Teaching patients appropriate oral hygiene strategies to maintain oral health
• Preparing and sterilizing instruments and equipment

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as dental assistant
• Understanding of health & safety regulations
• Excellent communication and people skills
• Knowledge of dental instruments and sterilization methods
• Attention to detail
• Well-organized and reliable
• High school diploma; graduating from dental assistant school is preferred
• Good computer skills
• Ability to perform regulated non-surgical tasks like coronal polishing is a plus
• Additional certification or training is an asset (e.g. EFDA)

Salary: Competitive, based on experience. Range: $18-24 per hour
