Job Description
What to Expect
Tesla is hiring a Demand Planning Analyst for the Global Service Supply Chain to manage and improve demand forecasting of Service Parts and Accessories for its Vehicles Business Unit. This role is responsible for improving forecast accuracy on key commodities, identifying inefficiencies in demand planning processes and designing innovative solutions that highlight key demand drivers for all categories of Service Parts and Accessories. The Demand Planning Analyst will operate in a highly cross-functional team environment involving Supply Chain, Marketing, Product Management and Engineering and provide reliable and timely demand plan to ensure the right service part is available at the right place at the right time in the right quantity.
What You’ll Do
  • Analyze the detailed historical consumption data by channel by region and highlight trends and patterns in consumption by applying advanced Statistical Models and Time Series Analysis
  • Collaborate with NPI, Reliability Engineering and Procurement teams to plan for material End-of-Life (EOL) transition planning with the goal to ensure reliable long-term service coverage while minimizing
  • Develop programs in statistical computing and graphics and apply advanced supply chain analytics to resolve inefficiencies in demand forecasting process, identify opportunities for forecast accuracy improvement and provide business insights and additional perspectives to Manager of Demand Planning and Service Supply Chain leadership
  • Create and manage short- and long-term demand forecasts for Service Parts and Accessories that helps optimize inventory levels at worldwide distribution centers, increase fill rates at all Tesla service centers and body shops, lower the cost of operation and improve overall customer satisfaction levels
  • Collaborate with Material Planning, Field Operations, Inventory Management, NPI, Production Demand Planning, Reliability Engineering, Service Campaigns and Marketing Teams to gather data and bring information on key business drivers that impact the future demand on Service Parts and Accessories
What You’ll Bring
  • Self-motivation, strong work ethic, and a passion for being hands-on in their work
  • Proficiency in MS Excel required; ERP/WRP systems, SQL, R/Python programming languages and data visualization programs such as Tableau or R Shiny are preferred
  • Open-minded, collaborative and team-oriented attitude with the ability to think outside the box for solutions to complex challenges
  • Master’s degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Operations Research, Statistics, Engineering, Mathematics or equivalent experience or evidence of exceptional ability
  • Able to work on multiple projects simultaneously and prioritizing tasks based on demand despite changes in work scope or focus
  • Passionate and high energy, with strong spoken and written communication skills to positively influence others
  • 1-2 years related experience as a planner, analyst or in a technical role within supply chain in a manufacturing company
  • Must demonstrate strong mathematical and statistical knowledge relevant to Supply Chain or Operations analytics
