1.PRIMARY PURPOSE
Responsible for planning, purchasing and negotiating materials, equipment, and supplies from internal and external vendors. Evaluates vendor quotes and services to determine the most desirable suppliers. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals to perform a variety of tasks. Works under general supervision. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required.
2.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Initiates sourcing initiatives to meet/exceed Wabtec’s goals for managing costs
  • Expedites material as needed to meet production needs and open customer orders
  • Understands quality standards of products and works with suppliers to correct when required
  • Constant awareness of lean and quality improvement processes for the position
  • Evaluates vendor quotes and services to determine most desirable suppliers.
  • Responsible for planning purchasing and negotiating a variety of consumable and finished good materials, equipment and supplies from vendors.
  • Responsible for managing inventory levels for production lines as well as finished goods. Setting and maintaining Min/Max levels as required to respond to evolving customer needs
  • Maintains scorecards for critical suppliers to improve their performance
  • Works with Accounts Payable department to ensure accurate payment to external suppliers
  • Runs certain MRP and other Oracle reports to determine purchasing requirements and on-time- delivery issues, taking actions as needed
3.OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Minimum education, job experience, certifications, skills, knowledge and abilities that incumbent must typically have to perform the essential functions of the job acceptably with or without a reasonable accommodation.
  • BS in Business Management, Supply Chain or equivalent work experience
  • Advanced training or certification in statistical forecasting a plus.
  • Use of Oracle and MRP system a plus
  • 3-5 years of experience in distribution replenishment planning role
  • Computer proficiency
  • 2-5 years of experience in Sourcing, Procurement or Supply Chain management.
  • Advanced Excel skills (Look up & Reference Tables, Pivot Tables, financial and logical formulas skills essential)

  • Highly collaborative and comfortable working with a wide range of stakeholders
  • Analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to interpret data and identify statistical trends
