Description

JOB GOAL:

Under the direction of the Principal, facilitate programs and procedures that ensure a safe nurturing, learning environment.

Essential and Marginal Functions

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Oversee and facilitate the operation of the lunchroom/playground, not to include food services.
  • Under the direction of the Principal, facilitate the building's efforts to ensure collaboration on the part of the school's attendance, counseling and administrative personnel with that of community agencies that are seeking to resolve student difficulties.
  • Promote appropriate student behavior and under the direction of the Principal, responsible for developing, maintaining, and implementing consistent discipline procedures for the school.
  • Promote good public relations by resolving student, staff and community concerns as they relate to the school environment, particularly in the areas of attendance and school climate.
  • Facilitate student programs and/or activities.

MARGINAL FUNCTIONS:

Maintain and keep updated an effective student attendance record system, and implement and facilitate compliance with State and District attendance regulations.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
  • Knowledge in instructional content areas.
  • Ability to facilitate resolution of student-to-student and/or student-to-teacher disagreements. Training in conflict management preferred.
  • Interpersonal, problem solving and organizational skills.
  • Teaching Certificate for appropriate Instructional Level or Administrative.

Supplemental Information

REPORTS TO: Principal

SUPERVISES: None

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Teacher contract year with an additional five (5) days prior to the start of the school year, and five (5) days at the close of the school year.

EVALUATION: Evaluation will be determined according to the District's Professional Evaluation Plan – Observation/Supervision/Evaluation Plan.
