What We Need:

2K is looking for an enthusiastic, committed, and amiable Database Administrator to provide Helix database support at our QA Studio in Las Vegas, Nevada. Applicants will be highly motivated and organized, able to work as part of a diverse team, while also having the ability to work without supervision. Reports to Director of IT Support.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Implement SQL Logins, Roles, and Authentication Modes as a part of Security Policies for various categories of users
• Perform database installation, upgrade, migration, configuration, administration, and security patches
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and the ability to handle multiple and concurrent tasks
• Suggest changes and improvements for database maintenance or protection
• Manage and administer database access and licensing, and set and maintain database standards
• Design databases with both front-end and back-end users in mind
• Perform routine database backup and disaster recovery activities
• Superb communication and documentation skills
• Conduct database maintenance, performance tuning, capacity planning, database optimization, and other database administration tasks
• Create and manage database reports, visualizations, and dashboards
• Respond in a timely manner to user-reported errors
• Create automation for repeating database tasks

Who Would Be a Great Fit:

• Solid experience with RDBMS, especially in Database tuning, upgrades, installation, configuration, security patches, etc.
• 3+ years of database administration experience utilizing but not limited to SQL and T-SQL databases
• Analytical attitude and good problem-solving skills
• Good understanding of VMware environments, storage hardware, and software
• Capable of working under pressure
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or related technical field
• Ability to create scripts for system administration/setup, perform database maintenance, and ensure data integrity
• Experience working with Windows server operating system, including Active Directory
• Fully proficient in the use of PCs and all programs included in the Microsoft Office application suite.
• Sophisticated knowledge of database security, backup and recovery, and performance monitoring standards
• Demonstrable ability to fix SQL Server and Windows Server OS issues
• You're passionate about databases and working with enterprise technology in general. You desire to interact with various groups, identifying and responding to a variety of technical challenges while learning new disciplines. You're able to provide amazing customer service, develop your skill set in a large-scale, enterprise environment, and are capable of working in a fast-paced, innovative, and creative environment with other highly skilled IT professionals who love games. You are eager to grow and develop skills that will help make 2K the best gaming company in the world.
• Good experience with performance tuning, capacity planning, and optimization of database environments
