The Database Administrator will provide database administration and end-user support for all Upstate IMT-hosted MS SQL Server and Oracle databases. Responsibilities include installing database and other related software on a variety of operating systems, applying patches, managing database file systems, monitoring performance, assisting application developers and troubleshooting problems. The Database Administrator must participate in the design and implementation of new databases and maintain backups and disaster recovery plans for Oracle, MS SQL Server, and other databases.
Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline and three (3) years relevant experience in database administration of Oracle and/or MS SQL Server OR Associate's degree in Computer Science or related discipline and five (5) years relevant experience in database administration OR equivalent combination of education and experience required. Strong interpersonal and written/oral communication skills required. Candidate should be able to demonstrate initiative, customer orientation, and teamwork competencies.
**Candidates who possess a Bachelor's degree OR an Associate's degree and a minimum of two (2) years relevant experience may be considered for appointment to a lower-level position at a commensurate salary.
Preferred Qualifications:Database administrative experience in Microsoft SQL Server preferred. Previous experience in the healthcare industry, application development, and software installation preferred. Experience with Oracle databases, Windows, Linux, and Unix operating systems are also desired.
Work Days:Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:30pm, off hours as required
