Database Administrator Ii (On-Site)

Install, upgrade and configure university database systems and related application tools. Contribute to the support of database management and infrastructure configuration to include security, performance, backup, troubleshooting and availability. This position will interact on a consistent basis with: IT analysts and programmers, other database administrators, customers, IT leadership and project management. Job Duty 1 -
Install and upgrade databases, application software and other software related to database management systems administration.
Job Duty 2 -
Create, configure and modify database objects, parameters and storage parameters as assigned.
Job Duty 3 -
Monitor and administer database management systems security to include support for addition and removal of user access, quota administration, audits and security problem resolution.
Job Duty 4 -
Monitor and tune database to enhance performance.
Job Duty 5 -
Troubleshoot database problems, identify issues and recommend solutions.
Job Duty 6 -
Migrate database objects and programs between environments.

Job Duty 7-

Develop/produce user defined reports and/or report enhancements.
Job Duty 8 -
Perform other duties as assigned

Educational Requirements
Bachelor's Degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Other Required Qualifications
Overnight travel requdmined for project delivery; flexibility in on-site daily service delivery hours (due to client shift schedules, project requdminements). Must be able to obtain and maintain a DOD security clearance
Required Experience
Four to five years of job related experience

Additional Preferred Qualifications
IT skills applied within a university environment is preferred
Preferred Educational Qualifications
Master's Degree

SKILLS
This job requires working knowledge of specific database system administration. Systems vary and will include security and relational database systems.

Position requires someone that is a self-starter and that doesn't require hands-on guidiance and management.

This job requires working knowledge and skills in unit specific database properties, scripting languages and query writing, as well as communications and problem solving.

Anticipated Salary Range: $60,707 - $82,561
