Position Overview

At eHawk, we're looking for a talented and motivated Data Scientist to join our team. This is a unique opportunity to be our initial data science hire, and to help us build out our analytics capabilities. We're looking for someone who is passionate about data, and who can help us use data-driven insights to solve real-world challenges that have a positive impact on society.

Responsibilities

• Develop a range of data models, balancing between common regression algorithms to machine learning models, that effectively determine and predict outcomes for recidivism.
• Continuously monitor and improve model performance and accuracy.
• Stay current with industry developments and emerging technologies to drive innovation in data analytics, data science and machine learning.
• Proficiently curate and clean data and develop basic data pipelines and workflows for model testing.
• Identify new opportunities for data-driven insights and use data to inform recommendations and drive business outcomes.
• Design and execute experiments to test hypotheses and validate models.
• Collaborate with product and technology teams to identify and prioritize opportunities for leveraging data to drive business solutions.

Qualifications

• Experience with AWS cloud technologies, particularly S3, Athena, and Redshift.
• 3+ years of experience in data science techniques, advanced analytics and statistical modeling
• Proficiency with data processing tools and technologies such as SQL, python, pandas, numpy, scikit-learn, and TensorFlow.
• Capability to experience shipping machine learning models to production environments.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to think, collaborate and communicate creatively.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in a quantitative field, such as computer science, statistics, mathematics.

Location

This is a hybrid position with 1-2 days per week from our office in Lee's Summit, MO for strategic and collaborative activities with product, technology, and executive leadership.

Compensation

We offer a competitive salary and benefits package based on experience, employer paid medical benefits for the employee, 401(k) with a 6% employer match, paid time off, vision and dental insurance.
