This role is in our Williamson, NY facility.

What We Need

The Data Scientist Intern will have the opportunity to accelerate the impact of the digital transformation program at Baldwin Richardson Foods by performing data analysis of the manufacturing, supply chain, and consumer data functions of the organization, and proposing solutions to potential pitfalls.

What You Will Do

The Intern will be responsible for a project related to data collection and analysis within our manufacturing, supply chain and customer data functions.

Examples Of Projects Could Include

• Process capability analysis and recommendations based on statistical process control (SPC).
• Analysis of manufacturing data to result in Recommendations on OEE improvements.
• Dashboard or report creation to improve data analysis capabilities for internal stakeholders.
• Consumer demand forecast.
• SKU margin analysis.

What You Need To Be Successful

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Required Education/Experience

• Excellent project management, organizational, and follow-through skill sets.
• Current 4 th year bachelor’s student, or current master’s program student is preferred.
• Ability to work autonomously, ask questions, and seek information when needed.
• Some level of programming ability (experience with Python would be a plus).
• Solid educational understanding of data collection and analysis processes with a drive to focus on analytics and determining trends and business recommendations.
• Familiarity with SQL or similar database management.
• Strong oral and written communication as well as interpersonal skills, with ability to communicate with diverse populations.
• Experience with statistical analysis using platforms such as Minitab and/or R.
• Currently enrolled in an accredited undergraduate program in Engineering, Physical Sciences, Information Technology, or Computer Science with a concentration on data science and analytics.

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

• Due to SQF regulations, all employees must be able to fluently read, write, and converse in the English language. Required for every posting
• Ability to comprehend and apply principles of math and statistical theory.
• Ability to read, write and interpret documents in English such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals.
