We are seeking a Fall 2023 co-op enrolled in an advanced degree program (Master’s or Ph.D.) to work on strategic and challenging problems in the elevator industry. The candidate will be working on projects involving data collection and manipulation, analytical model building, programming and reporting progress to technical and non-technical stakeholders. Candidate will work independently and with interdisciplinary teams. Work requires experience in programming, data handling and analytics modeling. Work may include, but is not limited to the following tasks:
  • Working with stakeholders on validating, interpreting and providing business insights based on the results of the models
  • Researching, building, implementing and evaluating data science models involving various machine learning approaches
  • Identifying, collecting and cleaning data from multiple sources
  • Reporting periodic progress on projects, including tracking usage and value derived from the models

EDUCATION / CERTIFICATIONS:
Student must be enrolled in an advanced degree program (Master or Ph.D.) in Computer Science, Data Science, Electrical or Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, or a related quantitative science or engineering area

EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Ability to learn new concepts quickly and translate them into practical applications
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and in teams
  • Strong programming skills on languages used in data science including Python and SQL
  • Experience building and implementing Statistical and/or Machine Learning models in R and/or Python
