ROLE – Data Migration Business Analyst

LOCATION – Remote, Work PST

MAIN SKILLS – Entertainment Industry and Royalty Experience is preferred, very strong SQL Skills, Must have really strong Data Analytical skills, Must understand APIS, Must have prior experience working on databases to pull and export data into excel, finding patterns and identifying any gaps, This is a Data heavy project. The candidate has to be able understand if there are any data quality issues, The person will be responsible on data migration from old to new systems, Will be coming up with mapping and test plans, Must have really strong understanding of functionality of the requirements, This is an agile project. The candidate must have worked on similar agile projects.

UMG works with AWS and is decommissioning Aurora and Redshift databases. Experience with these systems is preferred but not required. Agile project where API knowledge is required. Project is data heavy. Entertainment industry or royalties experience is nice to have but not required. Candidate should be comfortable working in database with SQL and using common sense to look for patterns, and should understand functional requirements.

The core responsibility of this role will be to understand the functional requirements and make sure all data needed to implement the required solutions will be provided by the source systems in a quality and structure that can be processed by the development team. In addition, there will be a strong focus on cutover planning and supporting the data migration from the existing systems into the new solution.

Job Details:

Collaborate with the Scrum team/technical staff/source application teams:

• Break down business requirements into concise JIRA tickets (Epics, User Stories, Tasks) and define Acceptance Criteria.
• Assist in design of the proposed technical solution to the business need.
• Effectively communicate the business requirements to technical staff.
• Be the main point of contact for communication between the project team and the source system owners.
• Answer questions and resolve ambiguities for the developers and QA Engineers during development.
• Ensure that the software meets project objectives and customer expectations.

Data analysis:

• Understand the data available in the source systems and the data needs of the required solution.
• Analyse the quality of the data and identify gaps and potential problems for the solution.
• Develop reports and presentations to communicate findings to stakeholders.
• Prepare data mapping and interface contract documents.
• Analyse the data to identify trends and patterns.

· Help preparing the cutover and data migration plan.

Essential:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, or a related field
• Strong data analysis skills
• Expert writing skills of requirements and technical documentation
• Solid understanding of data modelling, web (UI/UX) and API development
• Strong understanding of business systems analysis and design techniques
• Ability to work efficiently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• 5+ years of experience in business systems and/or data analysis
• Experience in working in Agile teams
• Experience in gathering specifications in big development projects for web-based applications
• Willing to work flexible hours for collaboration with the off-shore team
• Expert knowledge of tools like Jira, Confluence, Teams, SharePoint
• Strong SQL and Excel skills
• Experience with AWS, Redshift, authentication and authorization technologies a plus
