Job Summary

The Data Engineer is responsible for architecting, building, implementing, and supporting Power BI solutions to meeting City Brewing growing data requirements. They apply knowledge of technologies, applications, methodologies, processes and tools to support business programs like Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), Labor and other metric based business goals. As part of a collaborative team, they will be responsible for designing and developing software products to implement new features and support current applications. The Data Engineer will work with business stakeholders to ensure collected data and business activities allow for efficient processes and accurate use of data using the Microsoft BI Stack (Power BI, T-SQL, SSIS, SSAS, SSRS).

Duties and Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy SSIS packages
• Provide technical design, coding assistance to the team to accomplish the project deliverables as scoped
• Create Entity Relationship (ER) diagrams
• Configure, deploy, and maintain database
• Define and architect data and data integrity across on sites and the cloud
• Lead the migration for City's data to Microsoft Azure and Power BI
• Participate in development, deployment, and maintenance of data warehouses
• Create database objects and maintain referential integrity
• For projects, ensure the data from end users is correct and valid, test the IT solution, and execute data migrations/integrations
• Other special projects as tasked including data analytics
• Create and deploy reports and queries
• Ability to talk to business partners and document business requirements

Minimum Qualifications

• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Experience with data warehouses/lakes, Microsoft/Azure preferred
• Understanding of software development lifecycle
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency with data structures & algorithms
• Prior experience with analytics and report development
• Understanding of project management methodologies (Scrum, Agile, Waterfall)
• Bachelor’s degree with focus in Information Technology or related business experience
• Experience with relational database and SQL language
• 2-4 years experience in data engineering within a complex business environment
• Experience in a manufacturing environment, a plus
