Job Description
We are looking for a passionate individual experienced in quantitative data analysis and data processes to join a small and growing team within the company. You will join the company at an exciting time as we design and build a best-in-the-world research platform – including recurring reports, online dashboards, and other outlets. As a data and development analyst, you will grow into your role of owning data management, data processes, and quantitative analysis for this new research platform. This is an opportunity to significantly impact our company and clients’ long-term business planning by helping design and build this new research platform. You can work remotely or hybrid in one of JBREC’s regional offices.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Communicate technical results in an easy-to-understand format for a broad audience.
  • Solve new and complex quantitative analysis problems with technical ability, creativity, and sound judgment.
  • Assist in modeling and/or forecasting multiple data points.
  • Document, automate, and improve data management and data processes.
  • Aggregate and manage large datasets from data vendors plus publicly available (and occasionally unconventional) sources with scripts and APIs, where possible.
  • Develop and own aspects of data management and data processing that drive our analysis and insights for our clients in the housing and related industries.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
  • Experience with R statistical software, Python programming language, writing SQL database queries, and Tableau data visualization software.
  • Flexibility, adaptability, and comfort with uncertainty and ambiguity.
  • Experience with various Census data (Decennial, ACS, CPS, microdata). Interest in economic, real estate, demographic, and related data.
  • Demonstrated expertise in quantitative data analysis, including cross-tabulating microdata, econometric techniques, and various forecasting methods.
  • Minimum three years of professional work experience in a quantitative data analysis environment.
  • Rigorous attention to detail and accuracy, with an eye on the big picture.
  • Ability to consolidate and synthesize large amounts of data from various sources, reporting, and data mining, as well as automating data management and processing.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a quantitative field (statistics, mathematics, economics, etc.)
  • Ability to roadmap and tackle large, complex data management or analysis projects with cross-functional stakeholders, including reporting detailed and summary status, milestones, and deliverables regarding project assignments.
  • Expert MS Excel skills.

Salary: Depends on experience.
