A healthcare client is looking for a Data Analyst

Location: Pasadena, CA 91101 (Partial Remote)

Position: Data Analyst

Pay Rate: $50.46/hr.

Duration: 6 months

Expected Shift: Day shift 8am – 5pm

Partially Remote /Hybrid

Job Summary:

Will be working with the research arm of KP School of Medicine and participates in Health Services Research (HSS). The team analyzes large administrative data sets and statistical analysis to submit to published papers. Primarily works in SAS for statistical analysis. Involves manipulating and cleaning large data sets, construction variables to specifications that researchers can articulate, and conducting statistical analysis. Selected candidates will meet with the larger research team regarding their area of analysis once a week. Will manage day to day problem solving data on their own. Will design and execute statistical analysis plans for studies that include the following approaches:

• Meta-analysis, among others
• Psychometric analyses
• Prospective randomized controlled trials and cohort studies
• Econometric designs for causal inference
• Secondary analysis of existing large national, state, and health system datasets
• Mixed methods analyses
• Epidemiological studies

Day to Day:

On the average day, there will be some level of check-in meeting with research staff, supervisor, etc. Most of the time will be spent coding and tackling data sets that KPSOM is using. May ramp up on content areas of research the team is working on, i.e., Medicaid Claims Data.

Required Skills/Background:

• Open to Bachelors Degree if relevant skills are present in background
• Minimum three (3) years' of related work experience
• Must have experience with SAS coding
• Must have experience working with data sets (data management, variable construction, manipulation, cleaning)
• Ability to work independently
• Proactive approach to problem solving
• Must have experience with statistical analysis (model building)

Preferred Skills/Background:

• Some familiarity with academic studies is helpful
• Experience/exposure to regression analysis
• Familiarity with Kaiser Permanente health care system
• Experience in R
