Job Overview

We are seeking a Cyber Security Operations Analyst to help the Information Technology Team take our current cyber security program to the next level. You will work closely with various teams within the IT group to ensure we are remaining proactive and ensuring our software and systems are designed and implemented following best security practices. You will also be responsible for maintaining operational effectiveness of our terminal by mitigating risk all while increasing our security posture and protecting a part of the nation’s critical infrastructure.

How You Will Make An Impact

• The primary purpose of this position is to provide the maintenance, upkeep and provide front line support of our cyber-security program.
• Escalate and support potential security incidents in line with appropriate processes.
• Assist with the resolution of security-related infrastructure.
• Analyzes the SOC Open tickets, incidents, and coordination within the IT different team groups (IT-Dev, IT-OPS Infra and IT-OPS App).
• Participate in the response to potential security incidents by identifying and communicating relevant supplementary information.
• Participate in security incident response through in-depth, technical (log, forensic, malware, packet) analysis.
• Support communications of potential security incidents via multiple channels.
• Perform security alert detection and analysis capabilities across multiple technologies to ensure that security incidents are identified in a timely manner.
• Analyzes a variety of network and host-based security logs (Firewalls, NIDS, HIDS, Syslog).
• Administers, monitors and troubleshoots Cloud and On-prem Security systems, antivirus endpoint activities, and security gateway issues.
• Assists with security-related software and firmware (e.g., endpoint, vulnerability scanners, firewalls, IPS/IDS, DNS, proxy ) to maintain security and service continuity.

What You Will Need To Succeed

• Must be able to obtain a valid Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC).
• Experience with security virtualization and Cloud.
• Direct experience with anti-virus software, intrusion detection, firewalls, SIEM, patch management tools and content filtering, required.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Familiarity with ITIL processes.
• Experience in a security administration role supporting multiple platforms and applications.
• Experience protecting secure networks, systems, and application architectures.
• Must be able to work 8 am to 5 pm PST, 5 days a week, onsite.
• Experience planning, researching, and developing security policies, standards, and procedures.

Preferred Qualifications

• Ability to script and automate repetitious tasks.
• Expert in detecting policy violations or security incidents using log management platforms and SIEM.
• Security subject matter knowledge and experience in anti-X, intrusion detection, encryption, and general security policy.
• Experience working in shipping, railroad, trucking or transportation.
• Experience with identity management platforms and protocols like SAML and OAuth to REST.
• CISSP, SSCP and/or ITIL certification preferred
• Expert in working with threat prevention and intrusion detection systems.
• Well rounded host and network security expertise.

Compensation

The estimated pay range for this position is USD $101,920 - $110,240/Yr. and is an Exempt role.

Exact compensation and offers of employment are dependent on circumstances of each case and will be determined based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, licenses or certifications, and location.
