Introduction
If you have a passion for cybersecurity, knowledge of the current threat landscape, and experience implementing and maintaining cybersecurity programs, we encourage you to apply for the Cyber Security Engineer position at the Wisconsin Court System. The Consolidated Court Automation Programs (CCAP) is seeking qualified candidates for a full-time Cyber Security Engineer. The Cyber Security Engineer will work as a part of a five-person security team made up of a technical lead, two cyber security engineers, and an endpoint security engineer.
Position Summary
LOCATION: Madison, Wis. with infrequent statewide travel required. Certain positions with this department may allow remote work for a portion of their work schedule, depending on the needs of the position and the work unit. This topic may be discussed in the interview process. The position is headquartered in Wisconsin and selected candidates may be expected to report to office locations in Wisconsin on short notice. Employees residing outside the state of Wisconsin are not eligible for full‐time remote work.
SALARY: Minimum salary $69,653 annually with a State of Wisconsin benefits package. Salary will be determined based on the selected candidate’s qualifications and experience.
Job Details
1) Assists with planning, implementation, and maintenance of a comprehensive enterprise-wide security program that protects the court system’s information systems, including cybersecurity improvement projects aimed at maturing security posture. 2) Effectively responds to all reported security incidents and other reports of suspicious activity. 3) Manages user account processes; assures defined user authentication procedures are strictly followed; performs routine user account auditing. 4) Monitors networks and computer systems for security breaches, through the use of tools that detect intrusions, anomalous system behavior, and unauthorized network-attached devices.
Qualifications
Minimally qualified applicants will have: 1) College-level courses in cybersecurity, network security, computer support, networking, or related field. 2) Experience performing complex technical cybersecurity implementations. 3) Experience as member of an enterprise technology support/implementation team. 4) Demonstrated competencies in cyber security technologies. 5) Demonstrated knowledge of common adversary tactics, techniques, and procedures. 6) Strong technical troubleshooting, analytical and collaboration skills. 7) Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Well-qualified applicants will also have: 1) At least three years of experience monitoring computer systems for breaches and suspicious activities in an enterprise environment. 2) At least three years of experience investigating and remediating security alerts and incidents. 3) Experience with EDR tools, network access controls, secure coding practices, penetration testing, vulnerability testing, and phishing/social engineering techniques. 4) Proficiency in scripting (PowerShell, Python, Bash).
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
1) Employment will require a criminal background check. 2) Must meet the minimum standards for driving a state vehicle. 3) Must be able to travel throughout the State of Wisconsin with occasional overnights.
