SUMMARY
Provide support to a local government client. Maintain a secure Cybersecurity posture, as prescribed by the client. The implementation of Cybersecurity awareness within the client’s space must be delicately balanced to comply with regulations and policies yet retain the greatest flexibility possible to provide researchers an optimal secure IT environment in which to conduct their research.
A subject matter expertise (SME) in the areas of technology development; modernization of digital and architecture services; agile development approach; application development; system design; cloud architecture; and technology program strategies. SME will develop and install security measures for Information Technology (IT) systems. Focus will primarily be on cloud-based systems and networks, with the potential for on-site systems by exception.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Includes the following:
- Responsible for changes to the classified system components, environment, and location, including temporary relocation to another classified area.
- Implement site procedures for marking, handling, controlling, removing, transporting, sanitizing, reusing, and destroying media/equipment used for classified information.
- Work closely with the System Administrators to maintain the system's security and accreditation status on NIPRNet, SIPRNet and JWICS networks.
- Verify user access requests are approved and controls user access.
- Prepare, maintain, and implement an Information System Security Plan (ISSP) that accurately reflects the security protection measures for each classified information system or network for which he or she is responsible.
- Ensures users are instructed on the appropriate use of computer systems.
- Serve as a resource to users for all questions concerning classified systems.
- Ensure implementation of security measures by conducting security reviews and system tests.
SUPERVISORY/MANAGEMENT AUTHORITY
No supervisory/management authority.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science (BS) in IT. Master’s degree preferred
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a cybersecurity professional required, 5 years' experience as cybersecurity professional desired.
- A High School Diploma or equivalent is required
- Minimum of 1 year experience using the Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service (eMASS) to process Risk Management Framework (RMF) related artifacts and workflows for cloud-based solutions.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Eligible for a DoD privileged user account on a TS/SCI information system IAW DoD 8140/8570.01-m requirements
- TS/SBI clearance, with eligibility for access to SCI and NATO information prior to starting work
- Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service (eMASS) to process Risk Management Framework (RMF) related artifacts and workflows.
- Successfully pass a federal background check and a drug screen
- Cherokee Federal employees are included as covered employees in U.S. Presidential Executive Order 14042, which mandates Covid vaccines for federal contractors. Executive Order 14042 is currently blocked from enforcement pending court proceedings. Therefore, Cherokee Federal is halting the application of the mandate; however, if the injunction is lifted, Cherokee Federal will restore administration of the vaccine requirement.

Estimated Starting Salary Range: $160k - $169k
