Job Description
To provide a centralized system through which customers can obtain information regarding patient location, and phone numbers, while protecting patient confidentiality and providing information about DCH and its services to customers.


  • Ensure the reception desk and lobby area are clean and professional.
  • Manage deliveries to patient rooms from outside vendors and gift shops.
  • Provide guidance to visitors and assist in finding personnel in various departments, provide patient information to visitors authorized by hospital policy.
  • Answer incoming telephone calls in a timely and courteous manner, give out information as authorized by hospital policy, receive calls from within the hospital and supply requested information as authorized by hospital policy.


DCH Standards


  • Perform compliance requirements as outlined in the Employee Handbook
  • Must adhere to all DCH Health System policies and procedures.
  • Adhere to the DCH Behavioral Standards including creating positive relationships with patients/families, coworkers, colleagues, and with self.
  • Requires use of electronic mail, time and attendance software, learning management software, and intranet.
  • Maintain performance, patient and employee satisfaction, and financial standards as outlined in the performance evaluation.
  • All other duties as assigned


High school graduate or equivalent. Must be able to read, write legibly, speak, and comprehend English.


Working Conditions


WORK CONTEXT


Comes in contact with others, coordinates and leads others, deals with external customers using electronic mail and telephone, and participates in face-to-face discussions. Physical presence onsite is essential. Hearing and vision must be normal or corrected to within normal range. Employee must be able to perform the duties with or without reasonable accommodation.
