Custom Picture Framer (Full-Time)

Family owned and operated, our team here has won numerous industry awards for our creative designs and outstanding customer service. We are looking for a talented, hard-working, and creative individual to join our team as we open a second location in West Bloomfield. This position is for someone who is looking to join a fun team that is dedicated to making our customers happy by providing the highest quality work in the industry. We are looking for someone who wants to gain knowledge of the framing and art world, and an eye for color/design (or if you have experience it's a bonus!).

Responsibilities include:

• Ordering and maintaining products, art, and supplies- assist in merchandising and maintenance of the store.
• Complete framing orders meticulously and expeditiously
• Demonstrates a positive attitude, willingness to learn, problem solve, and make decisions in regard to customer satisfaction
• Interacts with others in an accepting and respectful manner; remains positive and respectful, even in difficult situations; promotes commitment to the organization’s vision and values; projects a positive image and serves as a role model for others
• Follow direction, prioritize and meet deadlines, and multitask.
• Process customer transactions
• Serves as Manager on Duty when Owner is not on site
• Consistently demonstrate superior customer service through product knowledge, design skills and other talent that will exceed customer expectations
• Cross-trained in Custom Framing design/sales and production

General Requirements:

• Excellent communication skills
• Availability to work five days/week, including some Saturdays
• Color Theory/Design Knowledge a plus
• Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
• Regular attendance
• Be able to work with hand tools, power tools, and wood tools.
• Retail/Sales Experience
• Be able to work in a fast-paced environment.

Physical Demands:

• Must be able to lift and carry 50 pounds while using the appropriate lifting techniques and following all safety rules
• Prolonged walking, standing, and climbing ladders

Technical Nice to Haves:

• General computer skills including but not limited to Word, Excel, Adobe Suite, Lifesaver (or other framing POS system), the Wizard CMC (or other computerized mat cutters)
• Knowledge of custom framing design, cutting glass, cutting mats, mounting, fitting, ability to determine the type of hardware needed, stretching canvas and fabric
• Knowledge of custom framing design, ability to measure art and frame components professionally, knowledge of appropriate archival materials and how/when to use them
