Job Description


The starting pay range for this position begins at $16.75/hour and is based on the level of qualifications and relevant experience above the minimum requirements. Full Time: a position averaging 35+ hours a week.


Facility Services Staff are responsible for cleaning the interiors and public areas of all buildings in and around Biltmore House, Antler Hill Village, and/or other locations across the estate. Duties may also include: light maintenance for facilities (e.g. changing light bulbs, etc.); snow removal; emergency response and assistance; and general departmental support. Staff will also coordinate to provide assistance for special events and functions and will provide general support and assistance to the department, leadership, and company.


Please note - a driver's license is required for this position.


This position receives a 3nd shift pay differential of $2/hour. (Base pay of $16.75 + 3nd shift differential $2 = $18.75/hour)


Shifts can vary, but are generally 11:00pm - 7:00am

Essential Job Duties:


  • Change light bulbs inside and outside.
  • This position is responsible for performing the above duties during 2nd shift. The ability to work these hours as designated by leadership is an essential function of this position
  • Emergency clean up (bodily fluids)
  • Vacuum/shampoo carpets and steps
  • Respond to power/water outages for report, or as an assistant to management
  • Snow removal.
  • Some storm cleanup
  • Assist with special events, functions, and projects (e.g. Christmas candlelight).
  • Dust, mop, wet mop, and buff all wood/tile/linoleum/concrete/marble floors.
  • Dust offices and gift shops
  • Clean restrooms with high degree of cleanliness and detail to Biltmore standards.
  • Constant awareness of safety of self, guests, and co-workers


Requirements:


  • High school diploma (or GED). Additional education, training, and/or certification(s)


preferred.


  • Demonstrated commitment to contributing to the delivery of world class guest service
  • At least one (1) year of previous custodial/janitorial and/or maintenance experience. The ideal candidate will have had prior experience in the same or similar role in another guest service, attraction, or hotel/resort environment, preferably working either second or third shifts.
  • Outstanding attention to detail.

  • Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and work under deadlines.


Physical Requirements:


  • Ability to lift/push/pull up to 50 pounds on a regular basis, and up to 75 pounds
