Position Description
The CCSF Trade Skills Department is looking for enthusiastic, organized, and versatile Custodial instructors to join the team. The instructor(s) will teach various Custodial classes within the department that may include the introduction of custodial training, materials and methods, safety and work flow administration. Additionally the instructor(s) may be asked to help with various department duties. We look forward to adding you to our team.
Job Duties
1. Teach day, evening, and/or weekend classes as required.
2. Participate in departmental functions, such as staff meetings, committee work, faculty evaluations, and others.
3. Perform duties associated with instruction and assessing student progress including, but not limited to, grading, required recordkeeping, etc.
4. Participate in Student Learning Outcomes development, assessment and reporting as required by the department and the college.
5. Work with and maintain effective relations with advisory committee and employers.
6. Assist with outreach and recruitment of students into program.
7. Prepare reports and compile program data as necessary and/or requested by Department Chair.
8. Development and review of curriculum and assessment of learning.
9. Perform other related duties as assigned by the supervisor.
10. Supports and engages in an innovative culture of culturally responsive, inclusive and anti-racist practices as it relates to student success with an awareness of student equity gaps.
11. Participates in ongoing training on diversity, equity, inclusion and anti-racism to center pedagogy.
Minimum Qualifications
1. Demonstrated knowledge, skills, and abilities to work with community college students with disabilities, various sexual orientations, and diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds (Required).
2. Earned Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution, or equivalent foreign degree, plus two years of professional experience directly related to the faculty member’s assignment; OR THE EQUIVALENT ;
OR
Earned Associate Degree from an accredited institution, or equivalent foreign degree, plus six years of professional experience directly related to the faculty member’s assignment; OR THE EQUIVALENT ;
OR
Hold a fully-satisfied LIFE California Community College Instructor Credential in Custodial (California credentials were no longer issued after July 1, 1990).

Desirable Qualifications
1. Five years or more of current journey person successful experience in Custodial trades.
2. Two years or more of successful teaching experience in Custodial/Janitorial trade.
3. Demonstrated successful current experience in Janitorial techniques used in green technology.
4. Possess current industry certifications in current industry training.
5. Successful experience working with diverse populations.
6. Knowledge of health and safety regulations of CAL OSHA .
7. Demonstrated professional industry related updated training.
8. Successful experience in curriculum and lesson plan preparation.
9. Possess strong interpersonal and collegial leadership skills
10. Successful experience with applying for grants in Custodial/Janitorial sector.
11. Evidence of successful instructional experience at the university or college level using culturally responsive pedagogy.
12. Demonstrated experience with and knowledge of inequities in higher education and a commitment to rectifying policies and processes that restrict access for historically minoritized and disproportionately impacted students.

Special Instructions to Applicant
City College of San Francisco will accept applications with all required supporting documentation at any time until November 13, 2019. Screening and interviews can be conducted at any point in time as the department desires; a part-time hiring pool or pools will be developed and be in effect for a one-year period from which temporary appointments will be made on an as-needed basis.
