Division/Unit: Facilities Management

Position Title: Custodial Services Administrator

Salary Range: $54,717 - $56,585

Position Summary:
The New York County District Attorney's Office has an immediate opening for a Custodial Services Administrator in its Facilities Management Unit under the Operations Division. In this position the Custodial Services Administrator under close supervision, will perform work of ordinary difficulty in maintaining the cleaning within DANY office space and immediate grounds; perform related light labor duties and related work.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Setup all special projects; fans, floor cleaning, vent cleaning, etc.
  • Update and maintain daily assignments with supervisors.
  • Supervise and follow up with supervisors regarding the daily cleaning and garbage pickup.
  • Update and maintain custodian schedules.
  • Scrubs floors with an electric machine; waxes and polishes floors; hand scrubs stairs and stair landings.
  • Performs related duties as assigned by Deputy Director and Director of Operations.
  • Addressing and reacting to concerns received via email for sanitizing and cleaning office/work areas.
  • Standard knowledge of Industry procedures on stripping/removing and waxing floors.
  • Maintain all Custodial inventory for each closet and storage room.
  • Coordinate with end users the setup of special projects within their spaces.
  • Coordinate all snow removal and custodial services during emergent situations.
  • Scheduling and supervising exterminators/plumbers that arrive for inspection and repairs.
  • Submitting requests online through Archibus for all plumbing related issues.

Qualifications:

  • Good organizational and interpersonal skills required.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects; to take direction and work well with others.
  • Ability to follow directions and apply proper policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Must have prior working knowledge of industry standard floor waxing and buffing machines.
  • Ability to use Excel to understand, create or modify inventory sheets.
  • Prior maintenance experience preferred.
  • Ability to interact with all levels of staff and vendors.

Educational Requirements:

  • High school diploma preferred.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Hours: 3 pm to 12 midnight
  • Days: Monday through Friday
  • Ability to work rotating schedules and weekends.
  • Computer skills required to access Excel and submit requests on Archibus.
  • One (1) year commitment to the hiring unit.
  • Must be available to work the following shift:
    • Days: Monday through Friday
    • Hours: 3 pm to 12 midnight
