Job Description
Job Summary


The CSPD Educator will collaborate with leadership to plan, coordinate, develop, revise, implement educational programs, and other related materials needed. The CSPD Educator is responsible for planning, developing tools, and maintaining education records. He/she must maintain a pass rate average of 80%.


Duties & Essential Job Functions


  • Respond to inquiries within 24 hours
  • Organize and conduct educational seminars and formal trainings
  • Collaborates with consultants, leadership teams and governing boards to provide evidenced-based simulation/educational experiences for medical students and SIPS staff
  • Work with vendors to maintain supplies for lab training
  • Assess and modify education programs as needed for standardization to meet SIPS educational needs
  • Collaborate with vendors to coordinate and promote educational events
  • Compile, post and display educational material and supportive documents to enhance teaching sessions
  • Maintain current standards and techniques, as required by employer
  • Conduct classes, document program effectiveness and satisfaction
  • Responsible for adherence of quality control on all sterilizers (i.e. biological, chemical, and mechanical monitoring) according to the standards set by: Joint Commission, AORN, and AAMI.
  • Have knowledge of and stay in compliance with applicable infection control policies and procedures
  • Provide support to participants, employees and customers
  • Ensures that records, attendance logs, and other educational documentation are accurate and completed in a timely manner
  • Conduct literature searches, analyze and summarize relevant material
  • Determine measurable goals and objectives for educational programs
  • Perform related duties as required
  • Travel as needed to assist or fill in for assessments or consulting services
  • Document and submit reports to the Project Director
  • Develop new clinical education programs, ensuring applicable certification and recertification requirements are met
Additional Duties will include:


Review and recommendation/update of organization’s policies and procedures (as related to Central Sterile) according to the latest standards and guidelines


Provision of competency checklist for each employee trained according to the competency/education spreadsheet provided.


RequirementsREQUIRED SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS


  • Thorough knowledge of aseptic technique principles and ability to apply such principles when orienting staff at hospitals
  • Possess great communication skills
  • Ability to assess, and identify educational needs
  • Thorough knowledge of the operation of instruments and equipment in the department
  • Five (5) years of manager and/or education experience
  • Current CRCST certification
  • Work in a cooperative manner.
  • Act in a friendly and courteous manner


Preferred


  • 5 years or more of Sterile Processing Educational experience
  • Associate in Business or Healthcare
  • Certified Surgical Technician
