Criminal Information Technician I
Records Section
The main purpose of this position is to input data of arrest information into the Utah Criminal History program, research Utah Criminal Justice Information System (UCJIS) databases, national criminal history databases, as well as court databases to ensure criminal history information is correct.
Principal Duties
  • Data entry of arrest information into various databases
  • Research criminal justice databases
  • Customer service both written and verbal
Requirements
  • Must pass the Utah Bureau of Identification Proficiency test with in probationary period and maintain certification thereafter.
The Best Qualified Candidate
  • Will have record keeping skills including date entry and retrieval skills.
  • Will have previous customer service experience both written and verbal
  • Must be able to keep information confidential.
  • Must have the ability to learn and explain state and federal laws, rules and regulations.
Supplemental Information
  • Work schedule is Monday -Friday 8:00 am -5:00 PM.
  • Employees who successfully pass probation and required training may be series promoted to a Criminal Info Technician II.
  • Fingerprints and a background check are required upon hire.
  • Starting wage is $16.54.
