Job Description

The Cosmetology Manager will support the Disney Cruise Line. This position leads and mentors hourly Cosmetologists and is the point of contact for contractors that care for the various wigs, facial hair and prosthetics used in the various Entertainment offerings aboard the ships. Candidates will have passion for guest and cast service putting inclusion to the forefront of everything they do.

This position reports to the Area Manager of Cosmetology.

This is a Casual Temporary or Seasonal role with no guarantee of weekly working hours as hours will fluctuate based on business need.

Responsibilities/You Will

  • Must have a clear understanding of all wigs and makeup used in our various Entertainment offerings.
  • Must have a clear understanding of how to set and adjust priorities to satisfy partner needs and maintain show quality.
  • Represent and support business requests in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must understand the Disney Look and how it relates to hair and makeup.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with Entertainment and Costuming partners.
  • Provide a safe working environment while ensuring compliance with Company, State, and Federal regulations.
  • Monitor, analyze and take action on inventory quantity, wig show quality, and expenses affecting annual financial targets.
  • Manage, guide, and develop a successful team of hourly Cosmetologists through demonstrated leadership, coaching, and mentoring.

Basic Qualifications/You Will Have

  • 1+ years’ leadership experience
  • Experience in planning, problem-solving, and conflict resolution
  • Experience collaborating with stakeholders at all levels
  • 1+ years’ experience in the Cosmetology field
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, nights, and holidays
  • Ability to work around all types of fibers and furs
  • Experience using Microsoft Programs with a focus on Excel
  • Experience facilitating communication (written & verbal) to all levels of Leadership

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience using SAP Purchasing Module and Concur
  • Valid Passport
  • Multi-lingual
  • Experience in prosthetics, air brushing, and makeup application
  • Experience in Walt Disney Parks and Resort policies and procedures; including collective bargaining agreements

Required Education

  • High School diploma or equivalent

Preferred Education

  • Valid Cosmetology license or accreditation
