Job Description
Overview:
Semler Dermatology is looking for a Cosmetic Nurse Practitioner to join our Landsdowne, VA office in a part time role.

The right candidate for this position is responsible to carry their own schedule with the help of a Medical Assistant and see all patient care and treatments from start to finish. Must be a people person, detail-oriented and attentive. You will support the patients through a variety of treatment recommendations and ensure that they are receiving top of the line services from yourself and our Board-certified Dermatologists.

Responsibilities:
  • Educate clients on all treatments and product offerings in all aspects of the practice including laser treatments and cosmetic surgeries
  • Pursue opportunities to upsell by educating clients on additional services.
  • Perform non-invasive cosmetic treatments including but not limited to: Injectable toxins and fillers, laser treatments, Thread Lifts, PRF/Micro needling, face and body contouring and other non-invasive treatments.
  • Establish and maintain rapport with clients to ensure overall customer service satisfaction of clients and ensure return visits.
  • Evaluate client's suitability for all available services/treatments and perform treatments that same day.
  • Actively promote the med spa, treatments, retail, and available promotions
  • Educate clients on all treatment processes including pre and post-treatment care guidelines.
Requirements
  • Minimum 3 years experience with cosmetic injections
  • Experience with multiple injectable brands (Allergan, Galderma, Merz, Jeuveau, RHA)
  • RN or higher with current injection certification for practice in Virginia
  • Takes pride in work and brings a positive attitude each day

Under the direction of the Physician, apply and modify the principles, methods and techniques of medicine to provide comprehensive dermatological services. Diagnose and treat a variety of skin diseases. Work closely with Administrator to ensure comprehensive delivery of services and quality patient care. Cooperate with management to ensure accomplishment of all center objectives. Participate in center growth plans.
Qualifications:
EDUCATION

Graduation from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.

EXPERIENCE

Previous experience in Dermatology and/or Cosmetic Dermatology preferred.

LICENSE/CERTIFICATION

Current state Nurse Practitioner license.

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND CONDITIONS

Work is performed in a clinical office environment. Involves frequent exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, medicinal preparations, blood borne pathogens and other conditions common to a medical center environment. Involves frequent telephone contact with clients, staff, vendors, consultants, and Management. Requires the ability to work in a demanding environment, to work the hours business necessitates and to effectively resolve conflicts as they arise. May also do on-site medical care as needed.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Work requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination. Standing and walking for prolonged periods of time. Occasional lifting up to 50 pounds. Normal or corrected vision to levels that allow performance of tasks inherent to medical practice and common office work. Hearing within the acceptable range for telephone contacts. Requires working under pressure during emergency situations or during irregular hours.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Communicate and work with medical staff to ensure coordinated efforts for the provision of high quality medical treatment and client service.
  • Communicate staff suggestions and/or complaints to Medical Director.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of existing clinical methods and procedures and suggest improvements.
  • Comply with applicable regulations and with corporate policies and procedures.
  • Maintain quality assurance for all medical issues and assist in the solution of any medical problems.
  • Assist clinical staff in understanding and complying with policies and procedures.
  • Provide dermatological treatment. Services must be limited to: services within the training or experience of the physician assistant, services customary to the practice of the supervising physician, services delegated by the supervising physician
  • Participate in professional development activities and maintain professional affiliations.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality.
  • Assist management in identifying, analyzing and resolving work problems.
  • Support efforts of administrative and marketing personnel in securing new and maintaining current business as required.
  • Chart all patient transactions in accordance with company policies and procedures. Write orders and record progress notes which will be reviewed and countersigned by the supervising physician.
  • Comply with company policies regarding ethical, legal and professional issues.
